Life update: September/October 2014

Hi Guys!

Sorry I have been lacking with the blog posts as of lately, this is because as some of you may already know I have moved to University at the end of September! I am now living in London, scary I know especially when Nottingham is probably half the size of London!
Anyway since the 26th of September (the day I moved into my flat in the accommodation for my uni) I have been settling in. It has taken me just under a month to fully settle in but I think I'm there lol!

WARNING: THIS WILL BE A VERY PICTURE HEAVY POST! Apologies!

So the first two picture of this post was the week before I left and everything got brought down from my room and took over the living room! While packing my case my dog realised something was going off and then decided he wasn't going to let me finish packing! Honestly at one point I thought he was going to snuggle up in my case but no he just laid on my clothes to stop me putting them in my case.

As you can see when I said I had taken over the living room I meant it! The living room was like this for at least 5 days and we couldn't use the table! sorry mum and dad!

Meeting People:

At first I was so scared about making friends but honestly I don't know why because on the first night I moved in I got invited to the pub and I was glad I went because I met a girl on my course and we just clicked instantly. As you can see in the pic below we (well I was shhhhh....) were slightly drunk before going out to the circus ball.

Freshers Week:

Freshers week what can I say...... there was arguments, people getting drunk (I am guilty of this), people being sick (again I am a guilty culprit) and hangovers. So basically the typical week people expect. However me, Cerys and some other girls ended up getting lost after the Disney party and got the bus in the wrong direction......safe to say we ended up getting a taxi home!

These pictures were from the last night of freshers and because I was drunk I wanted big hair but I tell you it took be THREE FUCKING DAYS to get my hair back to normal!!!

First week of Lectures:

What can I say I decided to pick one of the hardest courses going....veterinary nursing. But honestly I love it! It what I have wanted to do for a long time. But even though I'm not in 5 days a week I have online lessons to do for the course.

Anniversary with Adam:

Now last weekend me and my boyfriend celebrated our 2 year anniversary. He surprised me and booked a table at the Aqua Shard.....YES HE BOOKED DINNER IN THE SHARD!!!! The food was amazing and the service was incredible. If you have got the money I would defiantly recommend going. Also as well as paying for dinner he brought me this gorgeous ring from Pandora, the one I had been eyeing up for a while but every time I couldn't afford to spend £40 on a ring. So I am one very lucky girl as I have been told by a couple of the people that also study veterinary nursing.

So yeah that's what I have been up to over the past month as well as binge watching One Tree Hill on Amazon Instant. I am hoping to not neglect my blog again like I have this past month. I will try and post more frequently but I need to work out what posts I am doing and also when I am posting because of how much work I have to do.

Boots haul

Hi Guys!

So Saturday I went into boots as I need to start taking care of my skin a lot better.
Sorry about the quality of the picture! The lighting where I live today has been poop so I had to use my flash *boo* Also please ignore the curtains I never got round to changing them and don't see the point changing them when I got to UNI in two weeks lol!

As you can see in the picture this wasn't a very big haul!

The first thing I picked up was the Nivea pure and natural cleansing toner, now I own a bottle of micellar cleanisng water but I needed a toner as well and I like Nivea products so I wanted to try this one.

My next product was also one from Nivea, this time I got the oil free moisturising day cream, I picked this one up as I have combination skin and I normally miss out moisturising my face after cleansing it, the do a night cream as well so if I get on well with the day cream I will defiantly be investing in the night cream.

Now as winter is starting to creep in, it takes a toll on my hands as they go ever so dry, I know how well Vaseline works on my chapped lips in the winter so I decided to pick up this hand cream and to be honest I was drawn to this by the pink packaging but this smells divine.

Now the original reason why I went into Boots was to get the one and only tangle teezer. Ever since I have started dying my hair it has started to become extremely knotted and tangled after washing so I made a point to purchasing this little beauty after hearing so many good things about it.

The next thing I brought was the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash. Maybe I was drawn to this because it was pink....ok I put my hands up I did but it smells divine and I have heard good reviews about this so I did actually wanted to try this out.

The last thing I got was the Neutrogena Visibly Clear blackhead eliminating daily scrub. Now I have terrible problems with blackheads so hopefully this will help.

Once I have used these products I will be doing reviews on all of them so keep an eye out for them!

Prices:
Nivea Pure and Natural Cleansing Toner: £3.36
Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream: £3.99
Vaseline Healthy Hands and Stronger Nails: I think this was about £3
Tangle Teezer: £10.99
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash and Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub: All Neutrogena products were on 2 for £5.

 Until Next Time!!

Day out in Buxton

Hi guys

So sunday me and my boyfriend went to Buxton as we had tickets to Buxton raceway to see the car races but as that didn't start till 1pm so we decided to go to Poole's cavern!

Poole's cavern has history behind it, dating back to I think the roman ages maybe ever before that. It was a good tour to say it was only an hour long.
The water over time had cut the rocks out!

Unfortunately you can't see the true beauty in this picture! This is a large amount of calcite that is found in the cave! When stood next to it, it sparkled so much it was amazing!

After we went to the cavern we took up to soloman's temple, which happened to be up a hill but once we got to the top the hills was phenomenal.

Once we had been there we went to Buxton race track which was just amazing!

There's just something about the smell of fuel and rubber burning on the track, the sound of the cars wizzing round the track  sounding like a swarm of angry bees and the rubber hitting your face!

So overall the day was amazing and it was nice to get away from nottingham for the day and just chill with my boyfriend and not have to do anything but have fun!

Until next time!

Mua haul and review

Hi Guys

Today I bring you a MUA haul and review!
At the beginning of August I went into superdrug and brought the MUA Matte Perfect Foundation and the Matte Perfect Loose Powder. The foundation claims to last all day and has shine control for about 8 hours. After using it for a couple of days I noticed that it didn't cover any of my blemishes and as I have spot prone skin I needed something that was light and gave me some sort of coverage. So this then encouraged me to go back to superdrug the day before I went to wales and I brought the MUA Pro-Base Primer and Hide and Conceal. I tried these all of these product out together on holiday and I can honestly say I LOVE these products.

I got the foundation in the shade Fair which is the lightest shade that they do in this product, But I found that if I don't blend it in properly I will get slightly orange lines around my face, which normally happened around mt ears so at least when my hair is down it can be hidden. I also got the concealer in fair as well but even though it says it is the same shade as the foundation it is lighter than it. The Loose Powder is translucent but when applying this with a brush there is a lot of product fall out so I have got it on my clothes at times but it does brush off.
The primer is just amazing and without this I found that the foundation doesn't last all day. But the primer helps dramatically. However if the weather is really warm and you are wearing this foundation then I would recommend taking the loose powder with you as in really warm weather you do get some shine on your face.

Other than this I LOVE these products and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a light foundation.

Foundation: £2
Loose Powder: £2.50
Primer: £4
Concealer: £1

August Favourites

Hey Guys

Today I bring you my first favourites post!

In my favourites this month is:

Micellar Cleansing Water; this stuff is just amazing! I only got it in the middle of august abut honestly I don't think I can go back to using my face wipes to take off my make up. I have no idea how this magic bottle of water works but honestly I do not mind due to the fact that it really works.

MUA Matte Perfect Foundation and Loose Powder; I was looking for a light coverage foundation as I currently use No7  that I only wear on a night out as it is a full coverage foundation but I cannot afford this every month as it is £15 a bottle however the MUA matte perfect foundation is perfect as it provides the light coverage I wanted and it only cost me £2, and the loose powder is so cute and cost me £2.50. I will be doing a full review of these on my blog soon.

MUA Pro-base Primer; I have combination skin and I have found that if I do not use a primer with the MUA foundation, half way through the day it slides off my face but with the primer my makeup lasts all day. This only cost me £4.

Barry M Nail varnish: I currently own 5 shades of nail varnish in the gelly hi-shine range, I love the colours but some of them I haven't got round to trying two of the colours. Again I will be posting a full review on them on my blog.

Minnie Mouse Make Up Bag; This I only got when I went into the town the other week with my best friend. I was looking for a makeup bag as my original one was getting too small. As soon as I saw this bag I was in love with it and had to get it! It cost £3/4 from primark.

Time to get personal.....The honest truth!

Hi Guys!

As you can tell from the title of this post, I am in a mood to get personal with you all and let you have an insight into my mind and my thoughts at this moment in time.

As you all know I am starting University at the end of September and I couldn't be more happier and excited for it. I have wanted to become a vet since I was three years old, meaning my dream started 15 years ago. So as you can guess I have been so driven to go to University and become a Vet but as time went on and i did my GCSEs it became apparent that I needed to change my career aspects which did kind of annoy me because I wanted this for so long BUT after researching into veterinary nursing grades for University I found that this was the route I wanted to take, even more so that becoming a vet. Anyway as time has gone on and the stress of applying to University all paid off as I found out that I would be going to Middlesex University in London.

No don't get me wrong I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life in a different city ect! BUT I am scared. I am scared of moving away from Nottingham. I am scared of moving away from the life I know. I am scared to move away from my boyfriend of nearly 2 years, my family and my friends. It seems that the closer it gets to me moving to London (30 days as of midnight) the more I get scared and the more I worry. I haven't be one of them girls who was popular throughout school and college, and I find it extremely hard to make friends as I find it hard to open up. I have been stabbed in the back so many times I don't know if it hurts or whether I am just used to it now! I know I am putting all of this into my blog but I think that if i get this off my chest then maybe it will help me be less scared of starting the new chapter of my life. I have spoken to my boyfriend about it and I know he is going to find it hard seeing me every weekend for the first couple of months but then I won't see him for two weeks and when I do get to see him it will be for two days. And for me that will be extremely hard because I turn to him when I've had a bad day as his hugs seems to make me forget my problems but being 137 miles way from him will be hard as you can't get a cuddle over skype or a phone call.

I just feel like I won't fit in and will become the loner of the group who just stays in and works to get her mind of missing her boyfriend or the girl who works because she has no friends.

Sorry to get all deep and personal but I just needed to get it off my chest!

Until next time

Holiday in Wales!

Hi guys
So last week I was in Wales on holiday!
From waking up on a flat airbed surrounded by a moat to travelling back in the middle of the night the week was really good.
The first day was mainly travelling and then waiting for food, then the heavens decided to open and soak everything. And by everything I mean EVERYTHING! I swear me and my boyfriend woke up surrounded by a moat as the ground sheet had puddles, in fact it had lakes in it. But then to top this off EVERY night the air bed deflated and we woke up on the floor! I can tell you for nothing this was uncomfortable and felt wet because the floor was wet! Also this was our wake up call most mornings

Anyway after this the day was rubbish with the weather but never the less and now armed with umbrellas we headed towards New Quay for fish and chips. Oh and my dog decided he was going to photo bomb my mums picture but this is probably one of my favourite picture of the holiday!

Over the next couple of days we explored the coasts around where we were staying. But when I say close I actually mean a 2 hours drive away! Not fun especially when you end up with a numb bum.

On our final day of being in Wales we went to Devils Bridge.

The story behind Devils Bridge is "around the IIth Century, the Devil visited Wales as he had never been there before and he had heard that the scenery was breathtaking. He soon came across an old lady who seemed upset. "What's the matter?" he asked out of curiosity.
"Oh, I'm in such a terrible muddle and I don't know what to do!. My cow has wandered across the river and I can't get her back".
'Ah!" said the Devil 'What you need my dear, is a bridge, and I am just the man to build you one. Why don't you go home, and in the morning there will be a bridge waiting for you. All I ask in return is to keep the first living thing to cross the bridge!"
"Okay then" she said "It's a bargain. I'll see you in the morning. Nos da, Goodnight"
That night she wondered about this stranger who would build her a bridge. 'What a strange request! Why should I cross the bridge to get my cow back if he gets to keep me in exchange? Mind you it is very tempting offer"
The next day she got up and called for her faithful dog. Together they went down to the river. "Well well" she couldn't believe her eyes. In front of her was the best bridge that she had ever seen! I told you that I would build you a bridge" said the Devil appearing from nowhere.
"Now it's your turn to keep your side of the bargain".
I know, you get to keep the first living thing to cross the bridge" and she started to walk towards the bridge. But just when she got to the entrance, she stopped, took out a loaf of bread from her apron pocket and hurled it across the bridge. As quick as a flash and before the Devil could stop it, the dog chased after it. 'Aaaaaaagh!!!!!" screeched the Devil. "You stupid old woman, I don't believe it! Your smelly, hairy farm dog has become the first living thing to cross my bridge. It's no good to me" he screamed and then he vanished.
Well, the Devil was never seen in Wales again as he was so embarrassed at being outwitted by the old lady. High in the mountains near Aberystwyth, there is a village where a very old bridge crosses a deep gorge. Above it are two other bridges built at later dates. But the lowest one....Well, they say that the Devil himself built it!"
Now that you know the story I can continue *laughs* what my dad didn't tell us was there was 600 STEPS TO CLIMB! Bearing in mind I only had flip flops on and trust me this was a bad mistake *hides in hoodie* After getting over the initial shock of having to climb 600 steps we started thee journey!
The scenery was beautiful and peaceful

Further round the journey we came to Jacobs Ladder. This was about 100 steps maybe more at a 45 degree angle that we had to WALK DOWN WITH TWO DOGS!! Finally we made it so I took a picture (well my mum did but I made her send it me) of the steps.

Overall this journey round the scenery took us 45 minutes or maybe longer I can't remember but all I know is if you do this DO NOT GO IN FLIP FLOPS! This was the state of mine and my boyfriend's feet after!

Then my mum decided to photobomb so it looks like I have three legs!

So after a bipolar week of weather the week was good and relaxing and would happily go back to New Quay again!
Talk soon

After the first use I felt it lengthened my lashes!

It gives a nice even coat of mascara and in the picture above i put two coats on! Overall I really like this mascara and it is my go to mascara as my base coat!

Tattoos!

Hi guys

One thing you won't know about me is that I'm obsessed with tattoos! Since I turned 18 last November I've have had 3 tattoos and will be booking in for my fourth very soon!

My first tattoo I got on my 18th birthday and it's a puzzle piece with a Purple Heart inside it, this is on my right ankle. It's a matching tattoo with my boyfriend and as you can see he has the green heart in his puzzle piece! Also this picture is after we got them done so they look more red than they actually are and the grey you can see has faded loads as it's like a highlight to make it have depth! This only took about 20 minutes to do and not sure on the cost as my boyfriend booked it for my birthday.

Pain rating: about 6 I did have numbing cream but it didn't work

My second tattoo is for my older brother who sadly isn't with us any more. So I got this in memory of him! I got the idea off my mum as she had a white rose tattoo for him as well but hers is tiny where as mine is located in my right rib! I think this picture was taken a couple of days after I had it done! This took 3 hours to complete and was done in one sitting. It cost me £130

Pain rating: for the first 2 hours I'd say about a 4 but I was using super numb (a numbing cream the tattoo shop sells) but after that wore off I would say about a 8

My latest tattoo is a quote from one of my favourite TV shows...breaking bad ! I just love the quote "no half measures" and seen as I'm going into veterinary nursing in September at UNI I thought why not get this as a tattoo because I've waited forever to get to this point where I can start living my dream job! Also it reminds me to give everything I do my all. As you can see it's still very red as I took this as soon as I got home *please ignore the coke can forgot it was in this pic lol* this was my fastest tattoo it took 11 mins from sitting in the chair to walking out the shop and it only cost £15

Pain rating: 0 because of the numbing cream

All of my tattoos have been done at The monster shop in Mansfield.
My puzzle piece was done by Paul.
My rose was done by Ryan.
My quote was done by H.

Review: Garnier bb cream original

got this as a sample from Cosmo mag.
I have mixed views in this product but mainly negative!

Firstly the colour was slightly too dark for my skin and there is only two colours of this bb cream which is annoying. Secondly it made my skin more shiny after applying which I hate seen as I have oily skin anyway! Boo for oily skin! With this in mind I had to use two layers of my setting powder in order to get rid of the shininess.

Also after a couple of hours of wearing this bb cream I noticed it had started to become shiny again.

However I found the coverage was nice and it had a nice fragrance to it.

So overall I won't be buying this bb cream and will look for another one! I'm thinking of trying the Maybelline bb cream for oily skin. I think it's the pure dream I'm not sure what it's called
Has anyone tried this bb cream if so how did you get on with it??

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Hydrate

This is my first time using a product from the Maybelline baby lips collection. I picked this up from my local boots and the price is absolutely great I think I only played £2.99 for this which is quite cheap compared to some of the lip balm. I get quite chapped lips so I decided to try this after I heard really good reviews of it. And after a couple of weeks of using this I found it really helped my lips and they are a lot less chapped and will deffinatly be buying this product again and maybe try some of the tinted lip balms from the collection.

Let's begin

This is it. After always wanting to start a blog up I have finally done it. This will be an insight into my life (which maybe a little boring lol) but also I will be doing uni hauls as I'm starting university in September so there will be advice ect and just normal hauls and possible minecraft posts.

But for now I need to figure out what I'm gonna do lol

Until next time
